Building the Future Mobility Ecosystem
Hyundai Motor Group is partnering with Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) to collaborate on the development of smart cities, aiming to drive innovation in future mobility within station areas.

On April 21, Hyundai Motor Group and Korea Railroad Corporation announced that they had signed a business agreement at the Korail Smart Station Area Project Group in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to lead innovation in future mobility. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Heungsu, Executive Vice President and Chief Global Strategy Officer (GSO) of Hyundai Motor Group, and Jung Jungrae, Vice President of Korea Railroad Corporation, among others.
The two companies will jointly plan the elements necessary for building future mobility infrastructure, establish an environment optimized for future solutions such as autonomous driving and demand-responsive mobility, and create an ecosystem for smart cities as a whole. Specifically, they will cooperate on new smart city projects such as the development of station area business sites, as well as on building future mobility ecosystems both inside and outside Korea Railroad Corporation’s business sites.
Hyundai Motor Group is developing mobility solutions that provide seamless transportation, connecting people through autonomous driving and robotics, and is collaborating in various ways to create urban environments and introduce services optimized for future mobility solutions.
Kim Heungsu stated, "Applying future mobility solutions and related services to station areas is a very meaningful opportunity to design a smart city model that not only offers new convenience in mobility but also transforms lifestyle experiences. We will jointly pursue innovation in future mobility infrastructure and solutions, and further expand our strategic cooperation for the development of smart cities."
