Participating in COPHEX 2025 until April 25

The most notable product of the day was the 'Neofore Absorption Pad,' which received the Minister's Award. This product, co-exhibited by Murim and Shinsegae Food, presents an eco-friendly alternative by replacing the super absorbent polymer (SAP), polyethylene (PE) film, nonwoven fabric, and other conventional plastic materials used in moisture-absorbing pads for packaging fresh foods such as meat and seafood with 100% natural pulp for the first time in Korea. It can be used without concerns about microplastics or harmful substances, and it is naturally biodegradable after disposal.
The product also stands out for its technical excellence. By applying differentiated technology based on natural pulp, Murim achieved high moisture absorption with a single sheet of paper. In addition, the product features wet strength durability that prevents it from tearing easily when wet, as well as a coating that inhibits rapid moisture absorption. These features help maintain the freshness of high-moisture fresh foods during distribution and prevent deformation, such as the absorption pad sticking to the food.
The second award-winning product, 'NeoCottonTMB,' was co-exhibited with LG Household & Health Care and received the President of Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Award. As Korea's first packaging paper upcycled from discarded clothing, it realizes the value of resource circulation and conveys an eco-friendly sensibility through the naturally visible cotton fibers on its surface. With excellent printability and strength, it is ideally suited for premium cosmetics packaging.
In addition, Sajo Daerim's gift set packaging, which uses Murim's biodegradable 'moohae pulp mold,' was selected as an award-winning entry for its innovation in reducing packaging materials and enhancing sustainability by replacing plastic trays and nonwoven bags with an integrated structure.
Meanwhile, Murim is showcasing a variety of eco-friendly packaging products, including the award-winning entries, at 'COPHEX 2025,' Korea's leading exhibition for pharmaceutical, bio, and cosmetics manufacturing and packaging, held at KINTEX through April 25. At the on-site booth 'Dr. Paper R&D Center,' a professional paper consultant is stationed to provide not only product experiences but also customized packaging solution consultations. In addition, Murim has specially produced and is distributing a premium sample book featuring its signature eco-friendly packaging papers, including 'NeoCCP,' 'NeoTMB,' 'NeoStar Beauty Pack,' and 'NeoStar MGB,' to provide customers with a wide range of product information.
