On April 21, the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation (Chairman Park Jonghun) of Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Yuk Donghan), announced that it will hold the "Laboratory Concert for Elementary School Students" at the Chuncheon Culture and Arts Center performance hall on May 3.
The "Laboratory Concert for Elementary School Students" has been selected as part of the "2025 Performing Arts Regional Distribution Support Project" by the Arts Management Support Center. The Chuncheon Culture and Arts Center is presenting this performance as part of the "2025 Kids Classic" planned concert series to encourage local children to visit the theater.
This performance, themed as "The Laboratory of a Scientist Who Loves Music," centers on the intriguing question, "Can animals feel the rhythm too?" Audiences will listen to pieces from Camille Saint-Saens' suite "The Carnival of the Animals," which expresses the characteristics of various animals, and will explore, in an easy and enjoyable way, the different rhythms and how the brain perceives them.
The commentary will be led by Lee Kyungmyun, a professor at KAIST's School of Digital Humanities and Social Sciences, with concert guide Na Ungjun also participating as a host. Together, they will help young audience members understand the links between science and music.
The performers include pianists Won Jaeyeon and Lee Junyoung, the string quartet Risus Quartet, double bassist Yoo Isak, clarinetist Kim Wooyeon, flutist Yang Mihyun, and percussionist Lee Wonsuk.
Tickets for the "Laboratory Concert for Elementary School Students" are priced at 10,000 won for all seats. Reservations can be made through the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation website and Interpark Ticket.
