A Vibrant "Tulip Road" Draws Visitors with Colorful Blossoms
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pilhyung) announced on April 21 that it has completed preparations to welcome citizens eager to enjoy the spring flowers, as tulips in full bloom have begun to flourish at the "Four Seasons Garden" located under the Jangpyeonggyo Bridge along the Jungnangcheon Stream.
The "Four Seasons Garden" is a popular attraction along the Jungnangcheon Stream, where visitors can appreciate different flowers each season. In spring, tulips bloom; in summer, zinnias; and in autumn, yellow cosmos, creating a vibrant and ever-changing landscape.
This spring, approximately 80,000 tulip bulbs were planted. The brilliant display of red, yellow, purple, and other colorful blossoms creates a breathtaking spectacle.
Since the spring of 2023, the district has been cultivating flower gardens along the Jungnangcheon Stream to provide citizens with a space to relax and enjoy the beauty of each season.
In particular, tulips are a signature flower that heralds the arrival of spring each year. The flower path created along the Jungnangcheon riverside is so beloved by citizens that it has come to be known as the "Tulip Road."
Various themed gardens, such as the "Waterside Hydrangea Garden" and the "Jangan-dong Rose Garden," are also connected along the Jungnangcheon Stream, allowing visitors to experience the charm of gardens and seasonal blooms as they stroll along the path.
Mayor Lee Pilhyung of Dongdaemun-gu stated, "I hope everyone can fully enjoy the essence of spring while admiring the tulips in full bloom along the Jungnangcheon Stream," adding, "We will continue to create gardens where flowers bloom throughout all four seasons in everyday spaces, including Jungnangcheon, so that nature can become a part of residents' daily lives and transform our district into a garden city."
