KOTRA Supports Korean Construction Machinery Companies' Entry into Germany... Successful Korea Pavilion at 'BAUMA 2025'

Seeking Entry into Global Supply Chains Including Europe
"Supporting Follow-up Marketing and Identifying Local Business Partners"

KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) opened the Korea Pavilion at "BAUMA 2025," the world's largest construction and mining machinery exhibition, in Munich, Germany, to support domestic construction machinery companies.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KOTRA announced on the 22nd that they operated the Korea Pavilion at BAUMA 2025, held in Munich, Germany, from April 7 to 13, supporting the global expansion of 22 domestic construction machinery companies.

BAUMA, which began in 1954, is the world's largest construction machinery exhibition, held every three years. This year, more than 3,600 companies from around the world participated, and about 600,000 people visited the event. In particular, this year's exhibition was held under the themes of "sustainable construction technology" and "advanced machinery solutions," presenting the direction of the future construction industry.

KOTRA, together with the Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association, organized the Korea Pavilion and supported the exhibitions and consultations of 22 companies. Participating companies showcased new products in the field of heavy equipment parts and materials, such as hydraulic breakers and bearings, and actively engaged in business consultations aimed at entering global supply chains, including those in Europe.

Companies participating in the Korea Pavilion held a total of 713 one-on-one business meetings with buyers from Germany, as well as from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. On-site contract signings and discussions on memorandums of understanding (MOUs) also took place. Among them, Company A, a producer of power string units, signed a sample supply contract worth approximately $2.5 million with Company B, a global heavy equipment company.

Recently, Germany's construction market has contracted due to domestic demand slowdown and geopolitical factors such as the war in Ukraine. However, the new German government, scheduled to launch in May, is preparing a large-scale infrastructure investment plan dubbed the "second Marshall Plan." Over the next ten years, approximately 500 billion euros (about 791 trillion Korean won) will be invested to rebuild aging infrastructure, which is expected to expand construction demand in Germany and increase opportunities for Korean companies to enter the market.

Kim Hyuncheol, head of KOTRA's Europe Regional Headquarters, said, "This exhibition was an opportunity to reaffirm the technology and competitiveness of our companies despite the global economic slowdown. We will actively support follow-up marketing based on the achievements made on site and further identify local business partners to ensure these efforts lead to tangible export results."
