Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pilho) announced on April 21 that the National Credit Union Federation of Korea (Chairman Kim Yoonsik) has donated approximately 760 million won to help victims affected by the recent wildfires.
The funds were raised through voluntary donations by credit unions and their employees nationwide from March 28 to April 2, demonstrating the warmth of "the power of togetherness."
Park Kyui, head of the Happiness Sharing Division at the National Credit Union Federation, stated, "As a financial cooperative for local communities and neighbors, Shinhan Credit Union is continuing to provide practical support by gathering the warm hearts of credit union members across the country." She added, "We will continue to listen to the difficulties faced by the public on the ground and put the value of togetherness into practice."
Song Pilho, chairman of Hope Bridge, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I deeply appreciate the warm sharing shown by credit unions and their employees nationwide. We will cherish the spirit of those who voluntarily participated in the donation and do our utmost to support the swift recovery of daily life and provide practical assistance to residents in the affected areas."
Since the wildfires, Hope Bridge has provided emergency support with over 450,000 relief items and has been actively engaged in practical recovery activities, including laundry services at temporary shelters, medical support, and meal assistance for firefighters.
