On April 21, Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it had signed a business agreement with South Gyeongsang Province, Jinju City, Korea Airports Corporation, and Seum Air to revitalize Sacheon Airport.

As part of this agreement, the parties will make efforts to secure the necessary budget for implementation and actively pursue various measures to stimulate demand for flight routes, such as increasing airline boarding rates. Seum Air has also committed to making every effort to operate routes such as Sacheon-Gimpo, Sacheon-Jeju, and Sacheon-Ulleung to improve air traffic convenience for local residents.

Seum Air obtained a small air transport business license from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on February 17. The company plans to lease one ATR72-600 aircraft (with 72 seats) from France's ATR this year, with the goal of launching new services at Sacheon Airport in March next year. Seum Air also plans to add eight more aircraft sequentially starting in 2026.

Meanwhile, Sacheon City has formed a working-level task force led by the deputy mayor to promote the revitalization of Sacheon Airport. The city is pursuing a range of measures, including airport facility expansion, the addition of new flight routes, and the attraction of charter flights.
