Democratic Party Gwangju Chapter to Hold "Honam Joint Campaign Speech" at DJ Center on April 26

Primary Election for Presidential Candidate Selection in Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk

The Gwangju Metropolitan Chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea announced on April 18 that the Honam regional primary (Gwangju, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk) to select the party's presidential candidate will be held on April 26 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center.

Voting by dues-paying party members and national delegates will take place from April 23 to 26. A joint campaign speech event is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on the final day, April 26, at the Multipurpose Hall on the first floor of the Kimdaejung Convention Center.

Voting for dues-paying party members will be conducted online and via ARS (automated response system). Online voting will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on April 23, and from 9:00 a.m. until 30 minutes after the conclusion of the speech event on April 26.

ARS voting will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on April 24, with participation possible by answering three incoming calls. On April 25, voting is possible by answering two incoming calls between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the same day, dues-paying party members can participate by placing outgoing calls themselves.

National delegates will vote at 3:00 p.m. on April 26, the day of the Honam regional joint campaign speech event. For the general public who are not party members, voting will be conducted over two days between April 21 and 27.

The final candidate will be determined by combining 50% of the dues-paying party member vote and 50% of the general public vote. The results from each regional primary and the general public vote will be aggregated and the final candidate will be confirmed at the capital region convention on April 27, the last day of the primaries.
