Incheon City has secured the hosting rights for the 24th World Korean Business Convention (formerly known as the World Korean Businessmen Convention), which will be held next year.
On April 17 (local time), Incheon City announced that this decision was confirmed at the 23rd World Korean Business Convention Organizing Committee meeting held in Atlanta, United States. The convention will take place over three days in either April or October at Songdo Convensia, with the exact schedule to be finalized through consultation between Incheon City and the Overseas Koreans Agency.
The city promoted its strengths in investment, culture, and tourism as part of its hosting strategy, while also highlighting Songdo's excellent MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) infrastructure. In addition, Incheon City conveyed its commitment to hosting the event to major Korean business organizations. After these various efforts, the city successfully secured the event.

The World Korean Business Convention, hosted by the Overseas Koreans Agency, is the largest economic networking event for the Korean community, bringing together more than 3,000 participants, including overseas Korean businesspeople from 64 countries and domestic entrepreneurs. The event aims to support the overseas expansion of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and to promote global business cooperation.
With this achievement, Incheon City will host the World Korean Business Convention for the third time, following previous events in 2009 and 2018. In particular, next year's convention holds special significance as it will be the first to be held in Incheon since the establishment of the Overseas Koreans Agency in June 2023.
The Incheon Institute has projected that hosting the World Korean Business Convention could generate an economic impact of 17.7 billion won for the Incheon region.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We hope that hosting the convention will not only revitalize the local economy, but also serve as a turning point for domestic companies seeking to expand overseas and for the enhancement of global cooperation."
