The Regional Hospice Center at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital recently announced on the 18th that it has successfully completed the '2025 New Hospice Volunteer Training Program.'
This training was conducted to help participants gain a professional understanding of hospice care and included various case studies to provide hands-on care experience during volunteer activities.
Shim Hyunjung, Director of the Regional Hospice Center at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital and Professor of Hematology and Oncology, said, "There are volunteers who have been with us since the opening of the inpatient hospice ward in 2008," and added, "We will continue to support and strive to improve the quality of life for terminally ill patients and their families together with the hospice palliative care team."
Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital was designated as an inpatient hospice specialist institution in 2008 and as a regional hospice center in 2019. Since 2022, it has also served as a consultative hospice specialist institution.
