One-stop support from counseling to interviews...
Especially well received by elderly job seekers who struggle with computer use
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is establishing the 'Jungnang-gu Job Plus Center' as a key employment support hub that helps job seekers from various groups, including the elderly.
Located on the first floor of Jungnang-gu Office, the Job Plus Center operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. It provides one-stop support for all employment-related processes, including ▲job posting and application reception ▲one-on-one customized counseling ▲job placement ▲document preparation ▲interview consulting, and also runs employment competency enhancement programs such as new training for general security guards.
It has received great positive feedback, especially from elderly job seekers who struggle with document preparation due to unfamiliarity with computer use.
Mr. H (male, in his 60s), residing in Sinnae-dong, Jungnang-gu, worked as a postal worker at Gwangjin Post Office for 27 years and was recognized with the Prime Minister's Award for his exemplary service. However, finding a new job after retirement was not easy. Then he learned about the Jungnang-gu Job Plus Center, and with the center's support, he re-challenged himself in the security and cleaning fields and successfully got employed as a cleaner at the Seongdong-gu Urban Management Corporation.
Mr. H expressed his gratitude repeatedly, saying, "I was truly moved that the center sincerely helped me with something even my siblings would not easily assist with."
The center not only supports the entire employment process but also provides post-employment follow-up to promote job retention. Additionally, it operates various integrated services such as ▲job posting and application reception and counseling ▲sending job information via text messages and managing bulletin boards ▲employment competency enhancement education, thereby expanding job seekers' employment opportunities.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, "We will continue to actively strive to provide practical help to residents who are experiencing many difficulties preparing for employment through customized employment services that residents can truly feel."
