"Acting President Han disregarded the Constitution and deceived the people"
"His actions will be recorded in history and he will bear historical responsibility"
Speaker of the National Assembly Woo Won-sik stated on the 16th that the Constitutional Court's suspension of the effect of Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deok-su's nomination of a constitutional court justice was a "natural decision and a just outcome."

In a statement released that day, Speaker Woo said, "Acting President Han has repeatedly acted beyond his authority, disregarding the Constitution and, furthermore, deceiving the people."
He added, "He has gone beyond the limits excessively," and said, "The unconstitutional acts committed by Acting President Han will surely be recorded in history, and he will bear historical responsibility."
He continued, "Acting President Han must be humble before the Constitution and the people," and added, "We demand that he apologize to the people for insulting the Constitution and the people through the unconstitutional nomination of a constitutional court justice, and for attempting to dismiss the constitutional court proceedings with sophistry that distorts the facts."
On the same day in the afternoon, the Constitutional Court suspended the effect of Acting President Han's nomination of constitutional court justice candidates, preventing all appointment procedures, including the submission of personnel hearing requests for candidates Lee Wan-gyu and Ham Sang-hoon, whom Acting President Han had nominated.
