Jeonju to Hold Book Festival at Gunjisan Osongje Cypress Forest on the 19th

26 Public Small Libraries Take the Lead

The Jeonju Public Small Library Operations Council will hold a book festival on the 19th in the Hinoki Forest area near Osongje, Geonjisan, Jeonju, North Jeolla Province.

According to the city on the 16th, this event, themed "With Picture Books, Spring," will be organized voluntarily with 26 public small libraries in Jeonju taking the lead.

The event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will kick off with picture book reading, musical performances (ocarina, ukulele), and a performance by the Jeonju Office of Education Fathers' Choir.

Following this, eight experience booths and a permanent activity zone will be operated by groups of two to three small libraries.

At the experience booths, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as solving quizzes, decorating the night sky with stickers, drawing and coloring, making bookmarks, decorating transparent fans, and making bookends.

In the activity zone, there will be a picture book exhibition, traditional play experiences, and a book sharing market where visitors who pick up at least three pieces of trash from the forest can exchange them for new books. These activities will be available throughout the event.

A representative from the Jeonju Public Small Library Operations Council said, "We hope that the various hands-on activities prepared in the forest will offer a joyful time to communicate with books in the Geonjisan forest," adding, "We look forward to many citizens joining and enjoying this book festival filled with the energy of spring."
