Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Ju Gwang-deok) held the 'Namyangju City U.S. Promotion Ambassador Appointment Ceremony' for Brea City youth at the city hall Yeoyudang on the 16th.
This appointment was arranged to promote Namyangju through Brea youth and to enhance friendly cooperation and international sensitivity among future generations between the two cities.
The ceremony was attended by Namyangju Mayor Ju Gwang-deok, city officials, directors of the Brea Sister City Association and Korean language teachers, and seven Brea youth. The event proceeded with watching the city promotional video and awarding the ambassador appointment certificates.
The Brea youth appointed as Namyangju City promotion ambassadors plan to visit major city attractions such as the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site, Neungnae Station, Sujongsa Temple, and the Water Garden during their 2-night, 3-day stay. They will also experience local culture through activities like strawberry picking, cycling, and visiting local high schools.
Additionally, the Brea youth will receive video education at the Gyeonggi Viewer Media Center and produce videos capturing Namyangju from their own perspectives to use in their ambassador activities.
Mayor Ju Gwang-deok said, "You who were appointed today are not mere visitors but precious and honorable U.S. promotion ambassadors of Namyangju who connect the future of both cities. Your activities to widely share Namyangju as seen and felt through your eyes will greatly contribute to enhancing understanding between the two cities."
