Gwangju Dong-gu (District Mayor Lim Taek) announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement for the "Warm Housing Welfare Point Project" with LH Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters and Gwangju Dongbu Credit Union to promote community activities through the revitalization of small libraries.
This agreement was established to revitalize the "Forest Small Library" in LH Complex 1 of Yongsan District. The Warm Housing Welfare Point Project is a program where apartment residents receive points for using the small library or participating in its programs, and the accumulated points are applied to reduce their maintenance fees.
The LH small library is characterized by serving not only as a simple reading space but also as a community hub where residents voluntarily engage in various activities such as cultural lectures, exchange events, and volunteer work, fostering communication among neighbors.
Through this agreement, Dong-gu will support cultural lectures, while LH Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters and Gwangju Dongbu Credit Union will provide funding for housing welfare points to help reduce housing costs.
Lim Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "I am pleased that this project, in cooperation with local businesses, will serve as an opportunity to create a healthy and happy local community through small libraries," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to discover new projects to further vitalize small libraries as cultural community spaces for residents."
