Delivery of Congratulatory Gifts for Pregnancy and Childbirth to Expectant Mothers' Households

Jindo County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim Heesu), delivered congratulatory gifts for pregnancy and childbirth to households with expectant mothers at the county office on the 15th.

According to the county on the 16th, in order to promote a culture that encourages childbirth and to reduce the financial burden on families with newborns, the county provides natural wild seaweed and congratulatory gifts for childbirth to pregnant women and families with newborns who are registered residents and actually live in the county.

Since last year, the county has been actively implementing the childbirth congratulatory gift support project. For families with their first child, a baby food rice cooker is provided, and for families with a second or subsequent child, a child car seat or stroller, or a multi-child happy box with baby products is delivered directly to the household by the Jindo County Public Health Center.

In addition, the county is carrying out various projects such as expanding support for postpartum care expenses, providing childbirth incentives, supporting health insurance for newborns, and subsidizing the purchase of childcare items for families with multiple children.

As a result of strengthening childbirth-friendly policies in Jindo County, there has been a positive change with a 20% increase in the number of births in 2024 compared to 2023. Based on this, the county is raising expectations for future stabilization of the birth rate and improvement of the population structure.

One mother expressed her satisfaction, saying, "It was a great help to receive various support needed from pregnancy to childbirth, and I felt reassured by the attentive care provided by Jindo County."

Governor Kim Heesu stated, "With this delivery ceremony, the atmosphere encouraging childbirth in the region is expected to rise even further. We will continue to actively implement childbirth and childcare policies to realize 'Jindo County, a great place to have and raise children.'"
