Jeollanam-do and the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Planned Population and Health Association are recruiting participants for the "7th Jeonnam 100 Fathers Group" until the 21st.

The 100 Fathers Group is part of a public awareness project to address low birth rates, operated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Jeollanam-do, and the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Planned Population and Health Association. Any father living in Jeollanam-do with children aged from 3 years old to second grade in elementary school can apply.

Especially this year, the 7th group has expanded the eligible age range from fathers with children aged 3 to 7 to those with children aged 3 to 9 (born between 2017 and 2022, based on 2025).

If selected for the 7th Jeonnam 100 Fathers Group, participants can experience a variety of activities until December, starting with the official launch ceremony, including on- and offline experiential programs, parenting know-how mentoring and special lectures, weekly online missions in five areas (play, health, daily life, education, and relationships), and official community activities with fathers from across the country.

Launched in 2019 and now in its 7th year, the Jeonnam 100 Fathers Group has grown into Jeollanam-do's leading "co-parenting" fathers' practice group. According to a 2024 awareness survey, 92% of participants expressed their willingness to recommend the group to others and their determination to continue the "Parenting Master Challenge."

Kim Myungshin, Director of Population and Youth Immigration at Jeollanam-do, said, "Raising children is not the responsibility of just one person. Establishing a culture where both mothers and fathers raise children together is more important than anything else," and added, "Jeollanam-do will continue to support and encourage fathers to actively participate in parenting this year as well."
