Goryeong County Allocates 493.1 Billion Won in First Supplementary Budget for This Year

An Increase of 36.2 Billion KRW
Focused on Safeguarding the Local Economy and Residents' Livelihoods Amid Crisis

Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province has prepared the first supplementary budget for 2025, totaling 493.1 billion KRW, and submitted it to the Goryeong County Council on the 14th.

This represents an increase of 36.2 billion KRW (7.93%) compared to the original budget, reflecting a fiscal strategy aimed at stabilizing livelihoods and revitalizing the local community amid domestic instability and economic slowdown.

This supplementary budget especially secured financial resources through expenditure restructuring to enable bold and focused investments in projects that residents can directly feel, and redistributed these funds appropriately.

Through this supplementary budget, Goryeong County aimed to realize a "practical budget, used where needed." Consumptive spending was minimized, while resident-requested projects directly affecting the lives of citizens were prioritized. The budget was also strategically allocated to the preservation and utilization of historical and cultural assets and the creation of industrial infrastructure.

Major projects include 3.75 billion KRW for resident-requested projects proposed through town hall meetings, 1.9 billion KRW to support farmers such as steel support for potato greenhouses, 700 million KRW for the preservation and utilization of historical and cultural assets, 1 billion KRW for the Youth Rural Housing Project, and 800 million KRW for creating beautiful streets in the Goryeong 1 General Industrial Complex.

County Governor Lee Namcheol stated, "This supplementary budget was not simply about increasing or decreasing numbers, but about easing the burdens of our residents and bringing hope to the region," adding, "We will continue to do our best to secure stable financial resources and invest them generously in areas truly needed by our residents."
