Gyeonggi Province launched the 'Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Climate Management Service' on the 15th to help SMEs practice carbon neutrality and reduce energy costs.
The Climate Management Service is a one-stop platform that supports SMEs in analyzing carbon emissions through automatic data linkage without requiring specialized knowledge, and reducing electricity bills through energy diagnostics. It consists of Carbon Management Service and Energy Management Service.
The Carbon Management Service automatically collects corporate activity data by linking with 22 various public and private institutions such as the National Tax Service, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and Korea District Heating Corporation, and provides an analysis of carbon emissions based on this data.
By using data automatically entered through corporate digital certificate authentication, SMEs can easily manage their carbon emissions, helping those struggling with carbon neutrality to establish reduction strategies. A high-level security system that does not separately store certificate records has been applied so that company officials can use the service with peace of mind without concerns about information leakage.
The Energy Management Service targets workplaces using Korea Electric Power Corporation’s rate plans, receiving electricity usage data every 15 minutes to analyze power usage patterns and workplace characteristics. Through this, it offers an optimal contract power proposal and guides the transition to appropriate rate plans, providing a customized energy diagnostic service for companies.
SMEs in the province can use the service free of charge starting today through the Climate Management Service website (http://climate.gg.go.kr).
Cha Seong-su, Director of the Climate Environment and Energy Bureau, said, "Responding to the climate crisis is no longer a task only for large corporations," adding, "Through this service, we expect SMEs to actively participate in the transition to a carbon-neutral society while simultaneously enjoying the practical benefits of reducing energy costs."
