Gyeonggi Province, together with the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency, is recruiting companies to participate in the 'Inter-Biz Bio Partnering & Investment Forum 2025' to support the activation of investment in bio and pharmaceutical companies within the province.
The forum, held from July 2 to 4 at Phoenix Island in Jeju, is the largest open innovation technology trading platform in the domestic pharmaceutical and bio sectors. It has significantly contributed to cooperation among industry, academia, research institutes, ventures, and startups, as well as strengthening global competitiveness.
Since supporting five companies in 2019, Gyeonggi Province and the Promotion Agency have expanded the scale annually, selecting and supporting 33 companies last year. This year, they will support up to 1.8 million KRW per company for participation registration fees and accommodation expenses until the budget is exhausted. Notably, this year, accommodation expenses will be provided in addition to the existing registration fees to reflect the diverse needs of companies.
Um Gi-man, Director of the Bio Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "We hope this event will serve as a platform for investment exchange for bio companies in the province and lead to tangible commercialization and investment outcomes through various collaborations and support such as technology transfer, joint research, and professional consulting." He added, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to provide support to strengthen the global competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises."
Meanwhile, last year's event was attended by 2,205 bio industry stakeholders nationwide, conducting a total of 1,458 cooperation proposals and over 3,300 partnering meetings. As a result, 14 cases of technology transfer and investment attraction were achieved, totaling 2.312 billion KRW.
