Korea Tourism Organization Produces Special Korean Tourism Program with Hong Kong Boy Group 'Mirror'

Scheduled to Air Locally in Hong Kong During Peak Travel Season

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization are supporting the production of the special Korean tourism program "呂濤米Lo Seoul (Let's Travel to Seoul)" on Hong Kong's Viu TV, featuring the Hong Kong boy group MIRROR.

The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 14th that, as part of efforts to promote the recovery of inbound tourism from Hong Kong, it will focus on attracting Korean interest groups in Hong Kong and support the production of a program featuring MIRROR aimed at the younger generation in Hong Kong.

The program featuring MIRROR is scheduled to air locally in Hong Kong from May 5 to 23, coinciding with the Labor Day holiday, one of the peak travel seasons in Hong Kong.

The program will introduce everyday experiential tourist spots such as convenience stores in Hangang Park and Mangwon Market. It will also showcase gourmet experiences including a restaurant run by a chef who appeared on Netflix's "The Chef Show," as well as unique leisure activities. The Korea Tourism Organization's Hong Kong office plans to hold events such as "Guess the Tourist Spot Names Featured in the Program" through online channels.

Additionally, from May 5 for one month, the Korea Tourism Organization will conduct a promotion centered on food closely related to daily life. In collaboration with Food Panda, a global delivery app with 3 million local members in Hong Kong, they will run the Korean food tourism promotion "K-Bites to Korea." Discount vouchers for Korean restaurants in Hong Kong will be provided to the first 2,000 participants, and the top five users of Korean food will be awarded airline tickets to Korea. Those selected in the top five will also undertake a mission to "Compare Hong Kong Korean Restaurants with Korean Korean Restaurants" during their visit to Korea.

Jung In-hwa, head of the Korea Tourism Organization's Hong Kong office, stated, "The Korea Tourism Organization is promoting various projects in line with the changing trends of the Hong Kong outbound travel market after the pandemic. Thanks to these efforts, we achieved visible results, including attracting 600 people to Korea in April alone, including 222 students from 15 school groups, the largest scale ever." She added, "We will continue to do our best to attract inbound tourists by implementing customized marketing reflecting the characteristics of consumer types such as women in their 20s and 30s, student groups, and family travelers."
