Led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, this project supports the replacement of high-efficiency cooling and heating devices for energy-vulnerable groups susceptible to climate change.
Samsung Electronics will sequentially supply its 2025 model wall-mounted air conditioners to approximately 18,000 households selected by basic local governments nationwide. Samsung's new air conditioner models have an energy consumption efficiency rating of Grade 1, reducing electricity bill burdens, and are equipped with filters that can be cleaned with running water, lowering filter replacement costs. Through the low-income energy efficiency improvement project, Samsung Electronics has supplied high-efficiency air conditioners to a cumulative total of over 60,000 households from 2022 to this year.
Oh Chi-oh, Vice President and Head of Samsung Electronics Korea, stated, "It is highly meaningful to supply Samsung’s high-efficiency air conditioners to energy-vulnerable groups amid worsening heatwaves caused by climate change."
