Test Ride Event on the 14th
Full Operation Begins May 1
'Ulsan Rising Port,' where visitors can experience the future Urban Air Mobility (UAM) being promoted by Ulsan City, will officially begin operations on May 1.
On the afternoon of the 14th at 4 PM, the city will hold a trial ride event for 'Ulsan Rising Port' on the first floor of the Ulsan Museum, with Mayor Kim Dookyum, elementary school students, tourist guides, and the Ulsan Tourism Online Promotion Team participating together.
'Ulsan Rising Port' was introduced to realize the fun city of Ulsan by utilizing the 'Magic Carpet' showcased by SK Group at the 'Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024.'
It was installed on the first floor of the Ulsan Museum, with construction beginning in October last year and completed in February this year.
Users can experience Ulsan's tourist attractions by riding a simulated device floating 1 meter above the ground and watching a 6-minute video that realistically recreates Taehwagang National Garden, Yeongnam Alps, Daewangam Park, and the future industrial city.
Equipped with an immersive LED screen and a moving simulator, it allows up to four people to enjoy a panoramic view of Ulsan as if they were flying.
Ulsan City will conduct trial operations and stabilization until the end of this month, and will officially begin paid operations on May 1.
The admission fee is 10,000 KRW for adults and 5,000 KRW for children and teenagers. Ulsan citizens, seniors aged 65 and over, military personnel, and citizens of Haeoreum Alliance cities will receive a 50% discount.
Reservations and payments can be made on-site through unmanned kiosks.
Ulsan Rising Port is expected to become a representative tourist attraction in Ulsan, as it offers not only a simple experience but also a preview of the future where advanced transportation systems and digital technologies converge.
Mayor Kim Dookyum stated, "Ulsan Rising Port is a new-technology, experience-based tourism content that combines the latest technology with Ulsan's future industries, and is expected to provide new experiences for citizens and tourists," adding, "Through this, we will strive even harder to make Ulsan a fun and attractive tourist city."
