Dobong-gu Donates 37.82 Million Won in Donations to Wildfire-Affected Areas

Dobong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has delivered a total of 37.82 million KRW in donations, including contributions from Dobong-gu Office employees, to Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, and other areas affected by wildfires in the Yeongnam region.


Earlier, from March 31 to April 4, the district conducted an employee fundraising campaign to support the restoration of wildfire-affected areas and aid disaster victims, raising a total of 26.83 million KRW.


Dobong-gu employees deeply empathized with the difficulties faced by residents in the affected areas and actively participated in the fundraising effort.


The 19.11 million KRW raised by Dobong-gu Office and Dobong Cultural Foundation employees was sent to Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, while the 7.72 million KRW raised by Dobong-gu Facilities Management Corporation employees was distributed across the Gyeongbuk region.


In addition, local organizations and groups also extended their warm support. The Dobong-gu Park Golf Association, Dobong-gu Badminton Association, and Dobong-gu Yeongnam Hometown Association raised 8.79 million KRW, 1.2 million KRW, and 1 million KRW respectively. The collected donations were delivered to Andong, Gyeongbuk; Yeongdeok, Gyeongbuk; and Sancheong, Gyeongnam.


Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "I sincerely thank the residents and public officials who came together to help neighbors during this difficult time. I hope these donations will contribute to helping the residents of the affected areas restore their daily lives."


Prior to this donation delivery, on March 31, the district provided relief supplies worth 32.69 million KRW to Yeongdeok and Cheongsong, Gyeongbuk. The relief supplies were assembled based on the needs of the affected areas and included lanterns, blankets, socks, clothing, underwear, shoes, and bags.
