Donation Drives from City Sports Council, S Pohang Hospital, and Hyewonsa Temple
Support Continues for Wildfire Victims in Pohang
In Pohang, a warm wave of donations from various organizations and groups continues to support residents in the Gyeongbuk region who recently suffered significant damage from a large-scale wildfire.
At the donation ceremony held at the City Hall's External Cooperation Office on the 10th, S Pohang Hospital (Director Kim Mooncheol) donated 20 million KRW, and the Pohang Pharmaceutical Association (President Kim Younghun) provided pharmaceuticals worth 3 million KRW. In addition, Korea Daeryeon Nursing Hospital (Chairperson Park Younghee) donated 5 million KRW, Daesong-myeon residents contributed 7 million KRW, and Daesong-myeon Autonomous Organization (Development Advisory Committee Chairperson Jung Haeseo) donated 3 million KRW.
On the same day, the Cheongnim-dong Development Advisory Committee (Chairperson Chu Wangeun) donated 2 million KRW, the Uchang-dong Development Advisory Committee (Chairperson Choi Gwangdu) 3 million KRW, the Uchang-dong Autonomous Organization Council 3 million KRW, and the Korea Arts Association Pohang Branch (Branch President Kim Dongun) 3 million KRW, joining in the spirit of sharing.
Additionally, the Pohang Correctional Institution Council (President Kim Seungyu) donated 3 million KRW, the Buddhist Businesspeople's Association (President Kim Seungyu) 2 million KRW, and the Pohang Women's Organization Council (President Kim Shinyoung) contributed 7 million KRW, putting neighborly love into action.
On the 11th, Pohang Saemaul Association (President Lee Sanghae) donated 5 million KRW, Hyewonsa Temple (Chief Monk Beopgwang) 10 million KRW, the Pohang Council for the Movement for the Right Living (President Jin Seungha) 5 million KRW, Ace R&C (CEO Seo Yujeong) 3 million KRW, and the Pohang Sports Council (President Lee Jaehan) 35 million KRW, all participating in community sharing.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok said, "I am grateful that the citizens of Pohang have actively participated in support such as donations for our neighbors in nearby cities and counties who extended a helping hand during Pohang's difficult times," adding, "With the great intentions of our citizens, Pohang City will take the lead in supporting the recovery of daily life for disaster victims and the restoration of affected areas."
