Daegu Police Agency Holds '2025 Crime Prevention and Response Function Joint Workshop' In this workshop, focused discussions were held on strengthening prevention-oriented police activities based on data analysis and on community cooperation measures to revitalize community policing.

On the 11th, the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency held the '2025 Crime Prevention and Response Joint Workshop' at its main auditorium. More than 100 participants, including the crime prevention function leadership, heads of crime prevention and response departments at local police stations, and heads of police substations and patrol posts, attended to review annual policies and set future directions.

During the workshop, discussions centered on strengthening prevention-focused police activities based on data analysis and exploring ways to enhance community policing through local community cooperation.

In particular, the agency designated the eradication of voice phishing?a representative form of intelligent crime threatening the public economy?as its top priority. Police resources will be concentrated throughout the entire process, from prevention to crackdown and apprehension, through collaboration among related departments such as criminal investigation and the 112 emergency response unit. The event also featured a special lecture by a relevant expert.

Furthermore, the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency plans to actively introduce artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to the field of public safety, aiming to prevent crime and enhance citizens' sense of security. In addition to using police drones for traffic enforcement, the agency will expand the adoption of AI-based crime analysis and prediction systems to strengthen scientific policing capabilities.

Lee Seunghyeop, Commissioner of the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency, emphasized, "Crime prevention is both the foundation and the core of protecting citizens' daily lives. We will make every effort to eradicate malicious fraud such as voice phishing, while proactively preparing for the future of public safety by incorporating advanced technologies like AI."
