Busan Northern Office of Education Launches Full-Scale Hope Education District Project

Supporting Various Community-Linked Projects Including Community Connection Schools and Buk-gu and Sasang Village Schools

The Northern Office of Education in Busan (Superintendent Kim Beomgyu) will officially begin operating school-targeted public project initiatives and a variety of Hope Education District programs in collaboration with local communities and schools starting in April.

First, the public project initiatives for schools include a total of four projects, such as the 'Community Connection School,' 'Support for Learning Communities (students, teachers, and parents),' 'Support for School Culture and Arts Education,' and 'Support for School Cooperative Operations.'

The purpose of these public project initiatives is to support the operation of customized curricula that feature unique school education programs and promote the lives and growth of learners in partnership with the local community.

In particular, the Community Connection School and the School Culture and Arts Education Support Project, which aim to strengthen the connection between schools and local communities, are attracting significant interest from the participating schools as they launch.

The Buk-gu and Sasang Hope Education District programs offer students a variety of regionally specialized programs, such as the Buk-gu (Sasang) Village School, ShoesinSasang, Sasang Theater Class, Learning About the Village, and Find Your Dream! Career Navigator. Among local elementary, middle, and high schools, 41 schools including Gunam Elementary in Buk-gu and 37 schools including Gamjeon Elementary in Sasang-gu are scheduled to participate, allowing students to directly experience a range of programs linked with the community.

Superintendent Kim Beomgyu stated, "As the Hope Education District program reaches its eighth year and becomes firmly established, there is a high level of interest and participation in experiential programs tailored to students' developmental stages in schools. We will continue to fully support the discovery of curricula directly connected to students' everyday lives by utilizing the diverse educational resources of the northern region."
