Seoul Metro Participates in 'ESG Nanum Modubium' Resource Circulation Program

Seoul Metro (President Baek Ho) signed a "Zero-waste, Resource Circulation Practice Business Agreement" with E-Sunhwan Governance on the 10th.

The business agreement ceremony was held at the company headquarters, attended by key officials from both organizations, including Na Yunbeom, Head of Safety Management at Seoul Metro, and Jeong Deokgi, Chairman of E-Sunhwan Governance.

E-Sunhwan Governance is a non-profit public corporation established with approval from the Ministry of Environment for the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment and eco-friendly recycling projects.

Through this agreement, Seoul Metro will participate in E-Sunhwan Governance's "ESG Sharing Modubium" resource circulation program. Seoul Metro plans to hand over waste electrical and electronic products such as office equipment and home appliances generated in subway stations and offices to E-Sunhwan Governance. E-Sunhwan Governance will process and recycle these materials in an eco-friendly manner by material type to help minimize environmental pollution.

Additionally, in June, to commemorate World Environment Day, Seoul Metro, E-Sunhwan Governance, and the Korea Environment Corporation will jointly operate an "Environment Day Week" and implement an eco-friendly campaign involving employees and citizens.

In the future, both organizations plan to continue various ESG cooperative activities for social contribution, such as establishing a resource circulation system for waste electrical and electronic products and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

In February this year, Seoul Metro established an environmental management promotion plan to save resources and energy and use them efficiently, declaring a "Declaration of Practice for Compliance with Environmental Ethics" to contribute to sustainable growth.

Na Yunbeom, Head of Safety Management at Seoul Metro, said, "It is meaningful to be able to promote ESG environmental management through the business agreement with E-Sunhwan Governance," adding, "Seoul Metro will continue to do its best to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution and practice environmental management for future generations."
