115.2 Billion KRW Invested
11 Projects Including Experience Tourism to Be Launched

Jeollanam-do will invest a total of 115.2 billion KRW this year to develop specialized fishing villages and harbors and expand related infrastructure.
The investment will be used for 11 projects, including the Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion, modernization of fishing harbor facilities, and revitalization of fishing village experience tourism, with a focus on boosting the fishing village economy and improving the living environment for fishermen.
The Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion project will allocate 83.7 billion KRW to 34 locations, including Seomang Port in Jindo, to support the establishment of a fishing village economic platform linked to private investment, the creation of fishing village lifestyle platforms to generate fishing village jobs, and the construction of safety infrastructure for small-scale fishing harbors.
The modernization of fishing harbor facilities project will invest 23.7 billion KRW to construct essential harbor facilities such as breakwaters, wharves, and piers, and to provide convenience for fishermen's activities by repairing and reinforcing aging facilities and dredging sediment within the harbors.
The fishing village experience tourism revitalization project will invest 7.8 billion KRW to build tourism infrastructure utilizing marine resources such as islands, mudflats, and the sea, and to support the recruitment of managers for the activation of fishing village experience and recreation villages.
Additionally, starting this year, customized consulting will be newly provided to develop fishing village tourism content and strengthen the capabilities of fishing village cooperatives.
Park Taegun, Director of the Island and Marine Policy Division of Jeollanam-do, said, "We will do our best to increase fishermen's income and revitalize fishing villages by supporting various projects to secure the economic, environmental, and social sustainability of fishing villages."
