Chief Superintendent Park Hyonyong assumed office as the 31st Chief of Tongyeong Maritime Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 10th.
The new chief, Park, urged, "Let us become maritime police officers who are trusted by the public and can be relied upon, by upholding the basics and principles in Tongyeong, the center of maritime security in Korea."

He continued, "To achieve this, please do your best to strengthen on-site capabilities and enhance professionalism, cherish your colleagues, communicate, and strive to create a culture of mutual respect."
Afterward, Chief Park visited the integrated situation room, checked the maritime security situation within his jurisdiction, and began his official duties by meeting and greeting staff from various departments.

Chief Park graduated from Geoje High School and Gyeongsang National University, joined the police force as a constable in 1991, and has served as the personnel officer, security division chief, inspection division chief, criminal intelligence division chief at the Korea Coast Guard, public office inspector at the Office for Government Policy Coordination, and intelligence division chief at Tongyeong Maritime Police Station, among other positions.
His predecessor, Lee Sangin, was appointed as the head of the Rescue and Safety Division at the Central Regional Coast Guard Headquarters on the same day.
