The newly appointed settlement inspection committee members include six people: city council member Kim Youngtae as the representative member, city council member Jung Jiweon, accountant Bae Il, tax accountant Park Hojin, and former public officials Lee Sujeong and Choi Seongguk. Notably, this year, for the first time, private sector experts such as an accountant and a tax accountant have joined the committee, which is being evaluated as significantly enhancing the professionalism and objectivity of the settlement inspection process.

The settlement inspection will be conducted over 20 days from the 21st to May 10th, during which a thorough review will be carried out on the overall fiscal management of Gumi City for the 2024 fiscal year, including ▲revenue and expenditure settlements ▲carried-over project expenses ▲funds ▲bonds and liabilities ▲financial statements ▲performance reports, and more.

The settlement inspection evaluates the results of budget execution over the past year to determine the appropriateness and efficiency of the budget, and serves as the foundation for sound fiscal management by reflecting the findings in the budget planning for the next fiscal year.

Chairman Park Kyosang stated, "The settlement inspection is not just a simple review of numbers, but an important process to check how transparently and efficiently citizens' taxes have been used," and urged, "Please ensure that the city's finances are managed more transparently through thorough and fair inspections."
