Gyeongbuk Education Scholarship Association Provides 67.4 Million Won in Aid to 146 Students Affected by Wildfires

The Gyeongbuk Education Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 8th that it has provided scholarships to students affected by the recent wildfires to encourage their studies and improve their educational environment.


The recent wildfires caused significant damage to five northern regions of Gyeongbuk?Andong, Yeongdeok, Yeongyang, Uiseong, and Cheongsong?devastating the livelihoods of many residents. As a result, a total of 67.4 million KRW in scholarships was provided to 146 students whose homes were either completely destroyed or partially damaged.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Education Scholarship Foundation has consistently supported students affected by disasters in the past. In 2021, scholarships were given to children of merchants affected by the Yeongdeok market fire, and in 2022, to students impacted by the Uljin wildfire. Last year, the foundation expanded its scholarship programs to include students facing economic difficulties, those who have brought honor to Gyeongbuk education, and descendants of national and independence patriots.


Chairman Lim Jong-sik stated, "Many people are suffering due to the large-scale wildfires in northern Gyeongbuk, and among them are our students. We decided to provide scholarships to offer even a little support to the students who will lead our future, and we will continue to provide warm support to students facing difficult situations."
