Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it will provide on-site health education in villages for seniors who have difficulty moving or visiting the public health center.
The county will operate the 'Visiting Hypertension and Diabetes Health Class' a total of eight times until the 18th, targeting seniors who use local senior centers.
This health class is designed to help seniors recognize the importance of chronic disease management and develop self-management skills, such as checking their own blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Participants can check their own health status, learn practical methods to prevent diseases, and directly confirm the effectiveness of the program through pre- and post-assessments.
In addition, the county will maximize the effectiveness of the program by offering various hands-on activities for health promotion, such as strength training exercises using latex bands and aroma foot massage education. Any local resident can participate in the education, and those who wish to apply can visit the Health Promotion Department on the 2nd floor of the public health center or inquire by phone.
County Governor Lee Sangik said, "We will continue to strengthen our outreach services to provide equal health management opportunities for seniors who have difficulty visiting the public health center," and added, "We will expand practical and high-quality programs to promote the health of our residents."
