Targeting Opening in 2028 with a 24.9 Billion KRW Budget
To Be Developed as a Complex Cultural Facility
Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province announced on the 8th that the "Buyeo World Heritage Exploration Hub Center Construction Project" has finally passed the central investment review by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This project was temporarily put on hold after being requested for reconsideration by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in July last year, but with this decision, it can now proceed in earnest.
The Exploration Hub Center is a complex cultural facility that will provide integrated information on Buyeo's World Heritage sites and key ancient relics, with a total project budget of 24.9 billion KRW. It will be built at 59-4 Guari, Buyeo-eup (within the Gwanbuk-ri Historic Site), with the goal of opening in 2028.
The center will have a total floor area of 2,053 square meters and will be constructed as a single-story Korean-style wooden structure, consisting of an information exhibition building, an education and experience building, and a rest and convenience building.
The architectural design will be planned to harmonize with the surrounding cultural heritage landscape.
A county official stated, "With the project gaining momentum after passing the central investment review, we plan to promptly carry out the subsequent procedures," adding, "We will develop this as a hub space where people can appreciate the historical value of Baekje's ancient capital, Buyeo."
