Gwangju City announced on the 7th that it is recruiting five local companies to participate in 'RISCON TOKYO 2025,' Japan's disaster safety expo and crisis management industry exhibition, which will be held from October 1 to 3 in Japan.

'RISCON TOKYO' is Japan's largest B2B exhibition specializing in risk management, held annually since 2005. Cutting-edge products and services related to disaster risk reduction, business risk management, and security safety are showcased at the event.

Last year, through the operation of the integrated Korea Pavilion at 'RISCON TOKYO 2024,' in which the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and four local governments (Gyeonggi, Jeonbuk, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam) and 30 companies participated, a total of 463 consultations and approximately 72.3 billion KRW in contract negotiations were achieved.

This year, the city will operate the integrated Korea Pavilion together with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Busan City, and Chungnam Province. The event will promote disaster safety products from domestic small and medium-sized enterprises with outstanding technological capabilities. A total of 25 companies will participate, including 10 from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and five each from Gwangju, Busan, and Chungnam.

The city will recruit companies wishing to participate through its website (notices/announcements) until the 30th. Five companies will be selected and supported based on evaluations of product competitiveness, willingness to enter overseas markets, and export capabilities. Selected companies will receive support for participation fees, interpretation, logistics (1 CBM), and buyer matching.

Lee Buho, Director of Safety Policy, said, "This is a great opportunity for disaster safety industry companies to promote themselves at a highly recognized overseas exhibition," adding, "We hope many companies will participate in this exhibition, which will serve as a platform for advancing into overseas markets and sharing cutting-edge disaster safety industry technologies."

Meanwhile, the city has secured 17.3 billion KRW in national funding over the past five years by participating in central government projects related to the disaster safety industry, in connection with the region's core industries. The city is also making efforts to foster the local disaster safety industry by supporting participation in the Korea Safety Industry Expo and hosting new technology contests in the disaster safety sector.
