On this day, Seo-gu finalized the selection of eight organizations to support through the 2025 Women and Family-Friendly Village Public Contest Project. The project budget will provide a total of 15 million KRW, with each organization receiving between 1.5 million and 2.5 million KRW.

In the care sector, a total of six organizations were selected. The father-centered parenting groups “Yepum” (Nongseong 1-dong) and “Padena” (Sangmu 1-dong) are planning activities such as gardening with children and various experiential programs.

Village community groups such as “Nolmanchi,” “Chao-reum” (Chipyeong-dong), and “Sokkumnori Small Library” (Geumho 1-dong) will operate various programs after school, on weekends, and during vacations to fill in care gaps.

“Dayuki” in Nongseong 2-dong, a multicultural family parenting community, plans to share cultures of different countries and conduct tours exploring Korean history.

In the safety sector, “Safety Village Guardians” (Hwajeong 1-dong) and the “Tongjangdan Council” (Sangmu 1-dong) were selected. These groups will operate self-defense classes for female youth and single-person households, deliver safety kits to newly moved-in women, and take the lead in creating safe villages for women and families.

Kang Misook, head of the Gender and Child Welfare Division, said, “We will do our best to realize a women-friendly Seo-gu where everyone creates and enjoys together by sharing roles and responsibilities for parenting and care between couples and neighbors, and by further strengthening the social safety system for women.”
