Contributing to the Revitalization of the Local Economy
The Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Gumi Small Business Support Center, in cooperation with Gumi City, successfully held the small business flea market "Hope Festival" in conjunction with the "2024 Gumi Cherry Blossom Festival" on the 5th and 6th.
This flea market was organized with the goal of expanding sales channels for local small businesses and encouraging citizen participation, with a total of 100 booths in operation.
Among these, 80 were sales booths offering handmade desserts, crafts, and daily necessities, while the remaining 20 were experiential booths where visitors could enjoy craft and cultural activities.
During the event, a 5% discount was offered to those using the Gumi Sarang Gift Certificate, which had a positive effect on promoting the circulation and consumption of the local currency.
Kim Sunghak, Director of the Gumi Small Business Support Center, stated, "This flea market was a great opportunity for small business owners to meet citizens directly and introduce and sell their products," and added, "We will continue to carry out various support projects to strengthen the competitiveness of local small businesses."
Meanwhile, the event concluded with high participation from citizens, and Gumi City and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry plan to develop it into a regular event as a model for regional cooperation.
