Samsung Electronics Donates Home Appliances Worth 1 Billion KRW
'Disaster Recovery Special Service Team' Dispatched On-Site
Samsung Electronics has stepped up to support residents in the Gyeongbuk region who are suffering from the recent massive wildfire. The company is donating essential home appliances worth 1 billion KRW and dispatching a disaster recovery team to provide direct assistance on-site.
On the 6th, Samsung Electronics announced that it donated essential household products such as washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, and TVs worth 1 billion KRW to residents in the Gyeongbuk area. Many victims who lost their homes or whose living spaces became unsuitable due to the fire will be staying in temporary modular housing for an extended period. Samsung Electronics explained that it is providing essential home appliances to ensure that the affected residents do not face inconvenience even while living in temporary housing.

Samsung Electronics Service also dispatched a 'Disaster Recovery Special Service Team' to the site starting from the 28th of last month to assist affected residents. They are conducting free inspections of home appliances and mobile phones.
Mobile service centers have been set up at evacuation shelters for victims in Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok in Gyeongbuk to provide free inspection and repair services for residents' home appliances. If home appliances were damaged by the fire, engineers also offered on-site inspection and repair visits without requiring customers to visit the service centers directly.
A bus equipped with mobile phone inspection equipment was dispatched to repair and clean residents' mobile phones as well.

Samsung is recognized as a company that actively participates in overcoming crises by donating relief funds and supplies and volunteering for disaster recovery whenever large-scale natural disasters occur. On the 26th of last month, eight affiliated companies led by Samsung Electronics donated 3 billion KRW in relief funds, 1,000 disaster relief kits consisting of daily necessities, and 600 residential tents to help recover from the wildfires in Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan.
