[Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol] Democrats: "If Han Deok-su is not a 'proxy for rebellion,' the Presidential Office staff must accept their resignations"

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, acting president, rejected the resignation letters submitted by senior aides of the presidential office following the dismissal of former President Yoon Seok-yeol, prompting the Democratic Party to raise their voices, saying, "If Acting President Han is not a traitor acting on behalf of a rebellion, he should immediately accept the resignation letters of the traitorous aides."

No Jong-myeon, the Democratic Party's floor spokesperson, emphasized this on the 5th through a written briefing, stating, "Since the traitorous Yoon Seok-yeol has been dismissed, it is common sense and the demand of the people that his aides share the same fate."

The Prime Minister's Office announced the previous day that Acting President Han had rejected the collective resignation letters submitted by 15 senior aides, including Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok and two other chiefs, eight senior secretaries including Hong Cheol-ho, and three deputy directors of the National Security Office.

In response, Spokesperson No questioned, "Among Yoon Seok-yeol's aides, including Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok, who has filled the government vacuum?" and "What exactly have they accomplished over the past four months while receiving their salaries regularly from taxpayers' money?"

He continued, "The senior officials of the presidential office failed to stop Yoon Seok-yeol's reckless actions. Many are suspected of inciting rebellion," and claimed, "Those who visited the detained leader, those suspected of playing roles in legal maneuvers to cancel Yoon Seok-yeol's detention and delay impeachment trials."

He added, "They expressed their intention to resign immediately after Yoon Seok-yeol's dismissal was confirmed. If there is any respect for the public sentiment, which has been angered by the fact that those who should be ousted and investigated are still public officials, their resignations should be accepted without delay."

Addressing Acting President Han, he warned, "We caution Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who seems to be acting as a traitor on behalf of a rebellion," and said, "We hope he does not test the patience of the people and the Democratic Party."
