"We Must Join Forces to Revitalize the Economy"
The Korea Employers Federation stated on the 4th regarding the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol, "We must end the intense political and social confrontation and conflict caused by the impeachment crisis, and focus our efforts on social integration and stability."
In a statement, the Federation said, "The business community respects the decision of the Constitutional Court," and added, "We hope that the government and the National Assembly will demonstrate bipartisan leadership to promptly resolve the social turmoil caused by the administrative vacuum and division of public opinion."
They further suggested, "All economic actors, including labor and management, should faithfully perform their respective roles and work together to ensure social stability and revitalize our economy."
The Constitutional Court impeached President Yoon Seok-yeol at around 11:22 a.m. that day. The effect of the impeachment took place immediately, and from that point, President Yoon lost his position.
The Constitutional Court stated, "The respondent (President Yoon) violated the duty to uphold the Constitution by mobilizing military and police forces to damage constitutional institutions such as the National Assembly and infringing on the fundamental rights of the people," and added, "The constitutional benefit gained by impeaching the respondent overwhelmingly outweighs the national loss caused by the impeachment."
