Accelerating Restoration in Cooperation with KEPCO and Korea Electrical Safety Corporation
Andong City, North Gyeongsang Province (Mayor Kwon Gichang), announced on the 3rd that it has begun urgent restoration of electrical facilities in some areas where household and agricultural power supply was cut off due to a wildfire that recently spread from Uiseong to Andong.
On the 3rd, Andong City held a commemorative photo session before the emergency restoration of electrical facilities in the wildfire-affected area.
On March 31 and April 1, the city held emergency restoration support meetings with Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and the Andong branch of the Korea Electrical Contractors Association to check the status of damage to electrical facilities.
Accordingly, the city conducted damage inspections in seven towns, including Gilan-myeon, which was affected by the wildfire, as well as Pungcheon-myeon, Iljik-myeon, Namhu-myeon, Namsun-myeon, Imha-myeon, and Imdong-myeon. Based on these inspections, restoration work will begin in the Imha-myeon area on the 3rd.
In particular, for residential and agricultural electrical facilities that were omitted from the initial survey, the city plans to accept damage reports on-site and proceed with immediate restoration.
An Andong City official stated, "We will make every effort to restore electrical facilities to minimize inconvenience for residents," and added, "Emergency restoration requests can be submitted through each eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare center."
