Thirty-six Prevention and Suppression Specialists Dispatched to Patrol Key Areas

Muan County, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) announced on the 3rd that, while previously operating three wildfire suppression vehicles, it has recently secured two additional vehicles using disaster management funds due to the increased risk of wildfires caused by dry weather and strong winds.

The wildfire suppression vehicles are stationed in areas with high wildfire risk?Ilro, Samhyang, Cheonggye, Mongtan, and Haeje?to conduct monitoring activities. In the event of a wildfire, they are dispatched immediately, aiming for initial suppression within 30 minutes as part of a full-scale "golden time response system."

Meanwhile, the county has deployed 36 wildfire prevention and suppression specialists to patrol key areas. On weekends, when there are many visitors and hikers, 107 staff members are assigned per day to forest-adjacent zones and trail entrances to conduct thorough monitoring activities.

In particular, on April 4 (Cheongmyeong) and April 5 (Hansik), when a large number of people are expected to visit ancestral graves, special measures will be implemented, including restricting access to major hiking trails and strengthening public awareness efforts through street broadcasts and other means.

Governor Kim San, while inspecting the two newly secured wildfire suppression vehicles, emphasized, "Prevention and initial response are key in wildfire management, and there must not be the slightest negligence in the deployment of equipment and personnel."
