Namwon City to Operate Shuttle Buses During Chunhyang Festival

Shuttle Bus Service to Enhance Tourist Transportation Convenience from May 3 to 6

Namwon City in North Jeolla Province will operate shuttle buses on four routes from May 3 to 6 during the 95th Chunhyang Festival.

According to the city on the 2nd, these shuttle buses are being operated to provide transportation convenience for tourists, connecting major event venues such as Gwanghallu Garden and the canola flower field.

In particular, the routes are designed to connect transportation hubs such as Namwon Station, Sports Town, and temporary parking lots, so that not only public transportation users but also visitors using their own vehicles can conveniently access the festival grounds.

Looking at the starting and ending points of each route: Route 1 starts from Namwon Sports Town and ends at Ssanggyo Catholic Church; Route 2 starts from Namwon Station and ends at Seungsagyo; Route 3 starts from the Yeonji Snack Bar near Chunhyang Culture and Arts Center and ends at Seungsagyo; Route 4 starts from the temporary parking lot in front of The Rau Apartment and ends at Seungsagyo, making up the four routes.

The shuttles will operate from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., circulating at approximately 20-minute intervals, and are free of charge for all sections.

This year, in particular, the city plans to improve convenience for tourists by addressing last year’s issue of shuttle service suspension during lunch and dinner times, ensuring continuous operation throughout the day.

An official from the Namwon Chunhyang Festival Committee said, “We have arranged shuttle buses in consideration of the traffic situation in the city center, where it is difficult to secure parking spaces. If you are using your own vehicle, please use the temporary parking lots as much as possible and visit the event venue safely and comfortably using the shuttle buses.”

The Chunhyang Festival is a representative cultural festival of Korea that blends tradition and modernity. This year, even more diverse performances and experience programs are prepared, and a large number of tourists are expected to visit.
