Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon emphasized two days before President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment ruling that "the only path we can choose is acceptance and stability."

On the afternoon of the 2nd, Mayor Oh wrote on Facebook, "Both the ruling and opposition parties must acknowledge the results before the people and promise to focus on national stability."

He continued, "For the sake of the people, we must move forward together toward future hope, not past conflicts." This is interpreted as a response to the escalating conflicts in the squares and the National Assembly ahead of the impeachment ruling.

Earlier that day, Mayor Oh inspected safety measures with autonomous districts, police, and fire departments regarding impeachment trial rallies and protests. Seoul City plans to deploy up to 2,400 safety personnel around the impeachment date and operate nearby subways and buses flexibly according to traffic conditions.

Mayor Oh stated, "The control tower for citizens' life and safety, the 'Citizen Safety Countermeasures Headquarters,' has been operating on an emergency basis since mid-March, and a real-time response system with related agencies is also in place," adding, "The life and safety of citizens is the highest priority."
