In a statement on the 2nd, Chairperson Ahn said, "The Constitutional Court's impeachment ruling should serve as an opportunity for reconciliation and unity," adding, "Respecting the court's decision is a determination to uphold the final constitutional order."
Chairperson Ahn stated, "As the impeachment trial of President Yoon proceeds, our society is experiencing severe political and social divisions, such as the Seobu District Court incident, threatening citizens' human rights and democratic order," and expressed concern that "in a situation where wisdom must be gathered to resolve various domestic and international issues and challenges, the spread of conflict and confrontation is worrisome."
He further added, "I hope this ruling will help resolve conflicts and lay the foundation for all members to coexist peacefully," and said, "The Human Rights Commission will also actively work to heal national division and conflicts and ensure that all citizens are guaranteed equal rights."
