KCSC Resolves to Request Corrective Action
Buses and Subways: Unspecified Women Targeted
192 Cases of Illegal Restroom Filming in February
The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) resolved on the 31st of last month to request corrective action (access blocking) for 375 illegally filmed videos taken in public places.
The KCSC focused its monitoring on illegal recordings targeting unspecified women in public places such as buses, subways, and streets.
The commission explained, "These illegal videos are being distributed through overseas illegal and pornographic websites, making the situation severe."
In February, the commission had requested corrective action for 192 illegally filmed videos taken in restrooms. Many victims of illegal recordings in public places remain unaware of the harm even years after the distribution.
The commission stated, "We will continue active responses by maintaining ongoing monitoring and strengthening cooperation with related agencies such as the police."
The commission urged internet users to report any 'illegally filmed videos in public places' to the KCSC's 24-hour reporting and consultation hotline.
