Korail Donates 100 Million Won for Wildfire Relief Fund

Free Train Rides Provided for Volunteers

KORAIL announced on the 1st that it will donate 100 million KRW through the Korean Red Cross to help residents of the wildfire special disaster areas, including Uiseong in Gyeongbuk. The donation will be used for food and relief supplies support, as well as recovery activities in the affected areas.


Support for recovery activities through train services is also ongoing. Since the 28th of last month, KORAIL has been providing free standard class seats on all trains, including KTX, to volunteers traveling to special disaster areas such as Uiseong, Andong, and Yeongdeok. Volunteers can receive free tickets by presenting their volunteer ID at the station ticket counter. Full refunds are also available for those who have already purchased tickets.

KORAIL also participated in disaster relief activities such as donations and train fare reductions during the wildfires in 2019 and 2022.


Han Mun-hee, President of KORAIL, said, "We empathize with the pain of residents who have lost their homes and will continue to strive to support their recovery and help them regain stability."
