This donation follows the agreement of intent signed with Yangsan City, Gyeongnam, on May 22 last year. Venerable Seongpa had promised to donate works to be featured in an upcoming invitational exhibition in Seoul, and accordingly, officially handed over the pieces to Yangsan City on March 31.

The donated works are large-scale pieces titled 'D/0488, D/0494, D/0439, D/0455', created using the lacquer technique on Hanji. Each piece measures approximately 210?220 cm × 150 cm. These works exemplify Venerable Seongpa's signature creative methods and were among the most notable pieces in the invitational exhibition.

These artworks, which embody Venerable Seongpa's artistic world, reflect his philosophical insight and artistic depth, and are expected to provide a meaningful artistic experience for the citizens of Yangsan.

Venerable Seongpa expressed his thoughts on the donation, saying, "I hope the Yangsan City Art Museum will play an important role in the development of local culture and arts, and I expect that the works I have donated will be of some help."

Yangsan City plans to use this donation as an opportunity to create a cultural environment where art and humanities harmonize, expand opportunities for citizens to experience diverse forms of art, and lay the foundation for the development of local culture and the arts.

In particular, the donated works will be thoroughly preserved and managed in the storage of the Yangsan Independence Memorial Hall until the opening of the Yangsan City Art Museum. They are expected to become core holdings of the new museum once it is established.

Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "Venerable Seongpa's precious donation will deeply move and inspire the citizens of Yangsan and become an important asset for the development of local culture. With this donation, Yangsan City will further respect the artistic value of Venerable Seongpa and expand its cultural significance. We will also continue to provide citizens with broad opportunities to enjoy culture through various arts programs."
