From Digital Transformation to Financial Support
2025 Comprehensive Support Plan for Small Business Owners Established
Buk-gu, Gwangju is launching full-scale support measures to enhance the competitiveness of local alley businesses and help small business owners in crisis achieve real recovery.
Buk-gu announced on the 1st that it has established the "2025 Comprehensive Support Plan for Small Business Owners" at the end of last month and will invest a budget of 3.6 billion KRW this year to implement 33 detailed projects in three categories. This is an increase of six projects and 1.4 billion KRW in budget compared to the previous year.
This plan aims to ease the burden on small business owners facing management difficulties due to the economic downturn and changes in the business environment, and to promote sustainable growth of the Buk-gu economy. Buk-gu has the largest number of small business establishments among the five autonomous districts, with about 23,000, making policy support especially necessary.
The support projects are divided into: ▲ customized support by life cycle ▲ creation of alley-type shopping districts ▲ inclusion of financially vulnerable groups. Specifically, the plan includes a wide range of initiatives supporting overall business management for small business owners, such as marketing support, workplace environment improvement, online market development, and management consulting.
In particular, Buk-gu is focusing on establishing a "Small Business New Growth Support Center" and building an "AI-based Small Business Support System" as key projects this year, and will actively promote digital capacity building. These measures are expected to provide practical help to small business owners preparing for digital transformation in response to the expanding online market. In addition, financial support measures such as special guarantees and loan interest support will be implemented in parallel to stabilize cash flow and support business recovery.
Mayor Moon In stated, "We will strengthen customized support for small business owners who are struggling amidst the frozen domestic economy," and added, "We will do our best to make Buk-gu a place where small business owners are happy and to build a sustainable local economy."
