Yeongdeok County and Cheongsong County are neighboring cities to Pohang. When Pohang City was struggling with natural disasters such as earthquakes and Typhoon Hinnamnor, these counties actively supported Pohang by providing donations as well as recovery personnel and equipment, maintaining a strong relationship.
Pohang City plans to actively cooperate with related organizations, groups, and citizens in the region to support the prompt recovery of Yeongdeok, Cheongsong, and other nearby cities and counties affected by wildfires.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "When Pohang City suffered great damage from disasters, we were able to recover quickly thanks to the warm support from people all over the country. Now it is our turn to return the gratitude we received," emphasizing, "We will share the pain of our neighbors in Yeongdeok and Cheongsong and take the lead in supporting disaster victims so they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
